国外最新研究表明：摄像头对暴力犯罪毫无效果
英国拥有世界上最高密度的闭路电视，它们主要用来作为工具，以打击犯罪。但现在“国际研究网络”组织最新研究结果表明：摄像头安装在该国几乎没有任何用处。在过去的几年中（主要是在英国）其结果是：对降低整体罪案率而言，闭路电视只有轻微的影响。至于针对暴力犯罪，摄像机甚至没有效果。报告说，闭路电视只能标示有效使用时，在停车场的犯罪率倒是下降了约50 ％的平均水平。
组织负责人坎贝尔也表示，出于某种原因，该组织建议继续使用的闭路电视，但使用范围将缩小，即主要用以减少车辆的犯罪。
